Guilherme Pimentel Telles
Guilherme P. Telles holds a doctoral degree in Computer Science from University of Campinas-Brazil. He was a member of the bioinformatics team in the pioneering Brazilian genome projects that sequenced Xylella fastidiosa bacterium and sugarcane. He helped to create the bioinformatics company Scylla S.A., that received venture capital from Brazilian investors. After leaving Scylla he was an assistant professor in Universidade de São Paulo at São Carlos for four years. Before joining the faculty of the Institute of Computing of UNICAMP, he worked for CPqD Telecom in projects involving vehicle routing and network design problems. His current research interests involve algorithms, graphs and data structures and their applications to problems in molecular biology.
